In 1998 CFB branched into API by setting up a state-of-the-art production facility in Bitterfeld in the new German state of Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany. Bitterfeld produces Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and key intermediates according to cGMP guidelines. The plant was WHO GMP approved in 2000 and FDA inspected in 2002.
